Charles Rennie Mackintosh Exhibition, Liverpool

Image
A group of members from our branch headed to the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool to discover the life and work of architect, designer and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Featuring more than 250 items, from furniture and embroidery to stained glass and architectural drawings, the exhibition explores the movement that became known as The Glasgow Style – the only Art Nouveau movement in the UK.

Milly’s Smiles Visit

Image
In February we were joined by ladies from the Milly’s Smiles charity who told us about the work they do for families of children receiving life-threatening diagnosis. Not only do they supply a kit bag full of essential items such as thermometers, toiletries and their iconic rainbow fleeces, but they also pop a knitted elephant in to cheer and comfort the sick child. We were massively impressed by the work they do and were delighted to present them with a bag full of elephants knitted by our members. More information about Milly’s Smiles information can be found on their Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/pg/milly.walmsley12/photos/?ref=page_internal&msite_tab_async=1#!/milly.walmsley12/photos/a.1490356381268338/2019531765017461/?type=3&source=54&ref=page_internal
